The Tonaquint Center's prime location is now enhanced by a new 5-lane highway connection to the I-15 freeway access via the new bridge across the adjacent Santa Clara River. The Center is minutes from downtown and the St. George Airport.
The Tonaquint Center offers access to existing walkways for biking, jogging and strolling through Cottonwood and Tamarisk Groves along the Santa Clara River connecting employees with St. George City's trail system leading to the new Tonaquint Park including 8 tennis courts and a Nature Center. Southgate and Sunbrook Golf Courses are located within one-quarter mile of the Center.
Dixie Regional Medical Center
Completed in 2003, the new Dixie Regional Medical Center at River Road in St. George features advanced emergency/trauma services making possible the introduction of sophisticated medical services to the region. Landscape and facility designs of the new hospital are in a strong southwestern theme. The 60-acre site integrates a trail system and desert gardens. The previous older facility has been converted to a specialty hospital for women's and children's care and other services.
St. George City received $92 million for a new airport, and construction began in 2008 and was completed in 2011. SkyWest Airlines, the largest regional airline in the country, is headquartered in St. George. SkyWest now serves more distant destinations directly from the new St. George airport, greatly reducing the necessity of transfers from other hubs. The expanded facility is expected to draw long distance passengers from the Las Vegas and Salt Lake City airports.
